Your favorite DEMONS & WIZARDS song

#1 Post by Orodaran » 07 May 2004 19:29

Not strictly a BG album, but I think a bit of discussion about Hansi's side project won't hurt.

So vote on in the wait for the second offering from Hansi and Jon Schaffer's band!

A slight call afar is tempting me, like a whisper sweet or an awful scream; I cannot ignore what I've always been, I'm leaving again - one last time? in my little kingdom I can be what I really wanted to be... The wanderer

Heaven Denies all the way, it's the perfect mix of Blind Guardian/Iced Earth. Well, at least in my opinion :)

My Last Sunrise and Fiddler On The Green, but My Last Sunrise has something very special...
Grant me thy last midsummer breeze
May thou ascend from endless sleep... my desire...
Dance me above thy moonli seas
Glance yearningly into the deep
A cold and weary night

HD has that Iced Earth riffing though, but it's my favorite song on the CD and I actually heard D and W before I heard Blind Guardian actually, believe it or not!

I voted for Gallows Pole, the lyrics fit best to me. But Fiddler is great too and Blood on my hands would be the 3rd greatest for me. Anyway, it is a great album and the cover kicks so fucking much ass.

I voted for Heaven denies, since I love the lyrics and I really think that this song has got it right mixing the styles of Hansi and Jon... A lot of people seem to have voted for The fiddler on the green. Why? I mean, it is a great song but it's so darn slow!

I don't. It's quite an ordinary ballad that gets old soon. Nice song but nothing more.

Poor man's crusade, personally.

Only a few votes for this one. :?

I just want you to know who I am.

That final scream in Fiddler is better than sex... well maybe not quite.
Though the towers of the city are denied to we men of clay
still we know we shall scale the heights some day.
Frightened in the silence -
frightened, but thinking very hard,
let us make computations of the stars.

Poor Man's Crusade is my favourite. It sounds like a perfect
mixture of BG vocals, and IE music. Heavy.
So let it be written, so let it be done
