I just thought you would all find this interesting.

As for why I was watching this video? I like KPOP.

Wow this is definitely unexpected, but sometimes shows do take extracts from songs and place them throughout.

But I was wondering - did Blind Guardian lose some fame in Japan/eastern Asia in the last years? The ATEOT-tour didn't take them to Japan at all ... wouldn't come as a big surprise, as trends over there come and go quite fast - still somehow disappointing.

I was 6 months in South Korea in 2009 and never saw Blind Guardian songs as options in norebangs (karaoke places)
even though they had some metal there: lots Judas Priest, some Gamma Ray, "Emerald Sword", Queensryche and some other stuff.
Maybe AtEoT gained some popularity there, if they use it like that :)
(on the other hand - maybe they can use it like that only because it's not popular and can't be associated with anything =\ )

Blind guardian was never big in Japan or famous to begin with. I think a lot bands like to exaggerate. Big in Japan means Stadiums that are sold out in minutes. Blind guardian did a tour in 2007 with another "big in japan" band like Angra and the venues weren't that big, an average of 2 thousand people in capacity for those places.

In Japan just 20 % of people care about western music and Blind Guardian is a really small part of that. The bands that are big in Japan are Japanese bands like L'Arc en Ciel, B'z or X-japan for example. Madonna couldn't even fill Tokyo dome in her last tour and for those Japanese bands that's a piece of cake.

Like Marty Friedman said in an interview, the reason why metal bands go there all the time is because their Japanese fans are super loyal and they will be there to support them. I think the earthquake was the reason why Blind Guardian didn't go there in the last tour.
