WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ALBUM NOW

#1 Post by arenamaster » 07 Aug 2010 01:02

oh gosh :3
Each step I take,
May it hurt may it ache
Leads me further
Away from the past!
But as long as I breathe,
Each smile in my bleak face,
I'm on my way to find
Back to the peace of mind!

2 weeks ago I woulda said NiME or SFB, but this moment right now AtEoT is my favourite, that's probably the hype not going away but :P

Couldn't you have allowed 2 options?
I truly can't decide between ANATO and ATEOT :(

I will always remain somehow prefer ANATO, probably because I had to leave him, he began listening to Guardian, although my favorite album that I said ''Somewhere Far Beyond'', it is I first got him started listening guardians.

Nightfall In Middle-Earth. There's no question. It's eternal.

But each album has it's own charasteristics, so maybe there's no point of comparing them.

Nightfall, obviously. It's a classic album, one that's still great in almost every way. I doubt many people will remember ATEOT in fifteen years time.

Hype fading, SFB and NiME are back on top lol. That's not saying that AtEoT isn't awesome, cause it is. It's just no SFB or NiME

Yep, same goes for me. ANATO reaches glorious heights like no other album and ATEOT is similar but more down-to-earth. Twist has some of Guardians best songs (This will never end, Fly, Lionheart) but isn't as "perfect" as the other two albums.

IFTOS is very hard to be topped. It has everything BG represents in just the right dosage, without being too cheesy or too raw.Great balance.

There has always been an abundance of quality on every BG release and I still enjoy listening to basically every BG song (although my taste in music has definitely moved on) made, but on IFTOS there's not one single note I dislike, which makes it my favourite album, by a long shot. Nime is runner up.

I voted atEoT but NiME has become fused into my very being that it almost painful to set it as second.
But this album is that good! Have I cut off my own friends hand?!!!?...Arrrggghhhh!!!!

I think people forget easily...i think that Imaginations deserves better than this and that people forget how much
they like this album because it has become extremely classical BG and a LOT played on live gigs.

It's an album with ALL it's songs Great from beginning till end.

The results make a perfect curve, besides ATEOT. Based on these results, NiME was their prime with ANATO at second, the only reason for ATEOT having such high votes is because of the hype going on for the new album.

Well I don't think hype would be the right word for it. For me its more like 'new stuff to listen to after 4 years' kind of feeling. But I haven't voted yet. And I won't probably. I can't pick any of the albums as my favorite, it would be unfair for the rest.

I guess that if have 3 options, so people would chose their top 3 albums.. you can get a pretty fair image of what might be better/lesser liked.

each album is a masterpiece....
each album is a story, a part of BG's life
you can't choose one

in that case...
the last album is always the best
when NiME was the last album... it was the best

when you listen BG... you listen something different on every album, an evolution is always present

someone get's my point?

My top 3 in order:
Nightfall in Middle-Earth
A Night at the Opera
Imaginations from the Other Side

I really love all BG albums, though.

Another vote for Nightfall in Middle Earth, it can not be discussed.

To complet the top three is more dificult. Maybe IFTOS and SFB, though I like ATEOT (and ATITM) it lacks of the magic of the passage of years.

(In any case, if I could vote for a single, I would change SFB for And Then There Was Silence).

before this album:
1.NiME
2.ANaTO
3.SFB
4.IftOS

and ANATO and SFB were so close. Now:

1. NiME
2. ANaTO
3. AtEoT
4. SFB
5. IftOS

and AtEoT is even closer to both ANATO and SFB, it's such a hard ranking to do.

NiME is still at the top for me. There just isn't a song on there that's less than fantastic.

So here's my list at this time, according to my mood:

NiME
AtEoT
ANatO
ATitM
IftOS
SFB
TftTW
BoF
FtB

I put AtEoT above ANatO because that's what I'm listening to most at the moment, but it might change. Anyway, those are definitely the top 3 right now.

My favorite is still ANATO. AtEoT is growing and growing and growing inside me like a beast though.

But it's always hard to pick, after voting I felt kind of ungrateful with IftOS, TftTW, NiME...

I believe that AtEoT is the best representation of all that is BG, (each era that is) so I voted for it
