US Fans: The Ideal Cities/Towns for a US Tour.

#1 Post by TraneDeracs » 02 Feb 2010 18:20

I am by no means trying to insinuate in any way that these are locations which the band should indeed venture to should a US Tour be on the horizon, just a comprehensive view from many fans as to what locations would be the best for America.

To put it in greater words, what general locations, specific towns, venues maybe even...do you believe the bards should venture to on their upcoming World Tour? Specify the reasons for each one, for as we all know we're a mightily big country. Word it in anyway you'd reasonably choose...region wise, coast wise, whatever. Just make it plausible.

As for myself, I can only speak for the East Coast of America in general, despite being a West Coaster for some time.

Northeast: New York and Ohio. Many would be able to make it there from many adjacent states and give it a fair middle grounds for many to travel to.

Southeast: North Carolina or Georgia. This way there would be a definite turnout from Florida, the Virginia area, etc.

Illinois and Tennessee would also be good examples of places others would travel to.

Next.

Blind Guardian should definitely come to Salt Lake City, UT.
Reason 1: I would promote the shit out of it to get so many to come--the venue would be packed full of BG lovers
Reason 2: We have a great venue which I think would be perfect for them, Murray Theater
Reason 3: My band could possibly open for them
Reason 4: I could show the BG guys around and take them to lunch at a great authentic German restaurant lol 8)
Reason 5: We have the most badass mountains
How can we take it away from someone who has no right--no right to control the divine!!

I'd say Las Vegas or somewhere more central would be ideal. Somewhere where everyone can meet from traveling a certain distance. Plus Nevada is very central.

+1!!! Go to Vegas. Most people would come and not even know who was preforming. lol Also it's a huge place and lots of people go there every year.

Denver for sure because,
1. It's fairly central
2. All the other mentioned places are way too far away
3. If they do not go, I will kill myself

Yep. You'd think Boston or Hartford would make more sense for most people, but for me 1. the Palladium is a great venue, and 2. I'm on the opposite side of the state from Boston, so Worcester is much closer.

If the bards come to the southwest, either Dallas, TX or Austin, Tx should be in consideration. Dallas at least has some pretty huge outdoor venues, or if an indoor concert was what they were looking for, the new Cowboys Stadium in Arlington would seat a huge audience. Austin would also be good because, like Dallas, it has some pretty good venues to play at and is fairly central to most major cities in Texas.

Philly is essentiall the midpoint of the tri-state region (DE, PA, and NJ) and you can include Maryland if you want. It would be perfect!!!

agree 100%... better yet, don't go to any other city in the US and instead play in philly each night of the tour. i'd be so happy. what if they played an album each night for a week? that'd be so tits.

If they go to AZ they'll be picked up for not having the right papers. They'll have to cancel the concert and the rest of the tour. :x
That counts for -87 votes for Phoenix.

They have passports and they are not Mexican, they're German. AND they have to get pulled over for doing something before they can arrest them. So, good luck. I think that law rocks

It would be awesome if they did one in Columbus, too. I could either go see them twice, or not have to make the 3.5 hour trip to Clevo.

Iron Maiden filled Pine Knob in clarkston near Detroit, and that's like, 14-15,000, I think BG could very easily sell something out in Detroit.

We will drive very far no matter where it is because that's what Americans do. My prime cities would be DC, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, and Chicago but especially DC because it's a good halfway point between north and south. I was just there for Maiden!

Yep, I remember seeing them there in 2003 for the Night at the Opera tour. Best concert of my life, packed, everyone knew every word to every song. Look forward to reliving that. One of the best venues for a show in Massachusetts.
