Blind Guardian's page on Facebook...

#1 Post by Twister » 25 Jan 2010 13:13

... has been quite revived, lately.
Didn't know if that page was "official" by all meanings before, but seems that now someone very close to the band is administrating it. If you are on FB, I suggest you to check that page too for some news.

Last update seems nice!
Blind Guardian The weekend was a busy time. We had a tour preproduction meeting to discuss things. This was followed by filming for an online autograph session (more on this to follow later) and a photosession with the whole band. Hopefully we can share some of these photos with you soon. Today Frederik and Charlie will do drum recordings for the song "Curse my Name".
"Well, I was about to announce the next song, but I think we'll have to skip it...
Yeah, because we have a pretty sad song here, and you all seem so happy to me...!"

If there is a 13, which means more songs than the usual 11 or less

Awesome! A 12 song album at the least! Hope it's because the album is long, and not because the songs are short.

a conceptalbum with small interludes (or at least the interludes, considering we're talking about the amount of songs on an album)

lol!

I hate to burst your bubble, but This Will Never End was for a certainty Song 17 before it got its name...

I just hope it will be a good album and not too short. I wouldn't mind a Yes type of album with only about 3 long songs :)

As for facebook.. I'm kind of sad that that's the best way to get their updates, since I'm trying to avoid that social monster, but at least it's public...

Whoever is posting the updates made a lot of reference to a "song 12". Now every other person commenting on their wall or on their comments is telling the band to make the songs final name "song 12"

It does sound like a mysterious song name, if you think about it :)

Even if it wasn't a lot of interludes, just some. Yeah I do doubt it, but just throwing the idea out there :P

yeah, people like that are another reason why I avoid facebook... some punk/alternative band may call their songs "song xx", but that name doesn't fit a metal band, and it doubly doesn't fit to Blind Guardian. I'm confident though that Hansi knows this as well.

12 by it self wouldn't be a bad name for song. what the lyrics for "12" could be about..? uhhh this is interesting. But I doubt BG would do that.

I wonder if the single will be "Wheel of Time" or "Curse My Name." Since those are the only two song titles revealed. Plus, they seem to be working on them the most right now (as to get them done for a single release within the coming months...) One can hope :)

Update from Facebook:
Just a couple of comments based on some questions: We do not control when tickets go on sale for the concerts. That is up to local promoters. As far as the orchestral project goes it certainly won't be finished until AT LEAST 2012. But the orchestral recording for 3 songs has been completed already and they are great!

Anyway, it's only logical - this year they will be finishing work on the new album and then they'll start touring - which will take them at least an year around the world, so 2011 is taken up by touring and breaks here and there.... so 2012 is, after all, a POSITIVE tentative date!!! :P
